An excellent short story that surprises and entertains. It is very much worth the price and, more importantly, your time to read this little gem.
The Spinsters was a fun and entertaining read. This short story could very well have been one of the more lighthearted episodes of The Twilight Zone. Well worth the time and priced just right.
While most of the comments I'd like to make would involve spoilers, what I will say is that I loved the contrasts inherent in the story, not to mention the oh-so-refreshing twist to a character type that is quite over-exposed right now. In a way, one of the best "feel good" stories I've read in a while!
It's the perfect time of year for the spooky stories to come out, and this one hit the spot! I found myself laughing and shivering at the same time when I finished it. I liked the karma thread that ran through the story, especially since the con artist gets an extremely fitting reward for being a leech who feeds off the weaknesses of others. I could see myself picking up an entire anthology of spooky stories by this author should she choose to create one. )
What a fun and amusing little story. It started off like a Flannery O'Connor short story but then took a different direction altogether. I'd like to read more like this.
